2012-2013 Sunday Morning Classes

Begins September 2012 and goes through May 2013

Preschool – We introduce the concept of Unitarian Universalism to our preschoolers by nurturing spiritual growth, creativity and a sense of community through imaginative activities and rituals like rhymes and fingerplays. They will be using the curriculum Chalice Children.

Kindergarten-2nd grade - Wonderful Welcome

In this program, children identify intangible gifts central to Unitarian Universalism such as friendship, hospitality and fairness, and share these gifts with others. The Wonderful Welcome curriculum engages and challenges leaders and children alike to explore how and why we are willing to welcome others into our lives. We welcome not only strangers, but family, our peers, our neighbors and even entities that are not people such as our animal friends and nature itself.

3rd-5th grades - Toolbox of Faith - Invites participants to reflect on qualities of our Unitarian Universalist faith, such as integrity, courage and love, as tools they can use in living their lives and building their own faith.

6th-8th grades - Neighboring Faiths

Neighboring Faiths is a classic and very popular curriculum that invites youth and leaders to explore what members of other faiths believe, value, and do as religious people. The class will spend time learning about a particular faith, make a visit to a house of worship or invite a guest to speak, and then discuss what they experienced, how it is similar or different from Unitarian Universalism and how their experience can help them develop their own belief system.
